1 c flour
1 c quick-cooking oats (your oatmeal, Megs)
3/4 c firmly packed light brown sugar
1/2 c butter, barely melted
In large bowl, melt butter in micro. Add other 3. Mix. Reserving like barely a 1/3 cup of it, (to be sprinkled on top, later) bake in 9 x 13 glass pan. (I spray first with a little Pam cooking spray) for 10 min.
Remove from oven; spread evenly with a 14 oz can of Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated milk), a 6- oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips, chopped nuts (up to 1 cup, or less; chopped pecans or hazelnuts work well) and that remainder of the reserved base. Return to oven; bake 25 to 30 min more, until golden brown. Cool some minutes. Use butter knife all around edges to loosen. Cool more; cut when mostly set, and remove from pan. (If you wait too long to cut, they get super chewy and hard to work with.)
