This is my Mama's recipe for chipotle chili. It hasn't changed for years because it is so good- a classic! It is made up of mostly healthy ingredients- lean ground turkey, fresh veggies, beans, and spices. The chipotle in adobo sauce makes it a little spicy and so tasty. You can even used beans that aren't from the can (these take a while to cook, so get this ready ahead of time) for an even healthier option. And, a few not so healthy ingredients- a can of beer and a little brown sugar, but you wouldn't get a flavorful chili without it and at least it's not full of preservatives and fake foods. Everything in moderation...
This recipe does take a few hours to simmer and cook but there is very little preparation. It's great for a Sunday, winter football day or great for company!
Top the chili with bits of chopped onion and avocado.
